How the "opened" status works
When tracking is on, your sent emails get a status that shows whether they have been opened.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Sent | The email has been sent but not yet registered as opened. |
| Opened | The tracking pixel has loaded — the email was most likely opened. |
Why might the status be delayed or missing?
- The recipient hasn’t loaded images — in which case no open is registered.
- The email was read through a privacy proxy (see below), which can hide or distort the timing.
- The email landed in spam and was never opened.
An open is counted the first time the pixel loads. If the email is opened several times, the first registration is the most reliable one.
